The land of the dervishes and the first Christianity

Overview

Itinerary

Details

Turkey, land of wondrous scenery from the towering snow-capped Taurus Mountains to the 430 lakes and bountiful rivers that flow into the Mediterranean. What makes this country fascinating is its connection with Europe and Asia: Mediterranean landscape, heady aroma of the pipes smoked at street side restaurants, fresh, flavorsome food and relaxed coffee culture and the Middle Eastern echoes of the prayers spreading from its magnificent mosques. This journey will give the opportunity to discover more about Islam, the mysticism of the Sufis, and to connect with the history of Christianity, both Catholic and Orthodox traditions.
