Overview
An opportunity to discover Rome in depth—both its religious and its archaeological aspects, which are intrinsically connected to one another. We will then move to Assisi, for an incredible taste of the atmosphere where it is still possible to perceive St. Francis’ faith, presence, and his love for humanity and creation. We travel to Florence to also learn about local agriculture and then to Venice, exploring both of these cities via fascinating guided walks along the ancient roads within their urban centers, visiting the most exquisite cathedrals and neighborhoods of two of the prettiest cities in the world.

Itinerary
Day 1• Rome
Arrival at Fiumicino Airport. In the morning transfer to the hotel for registration and lunch. Guided tour of Imperial Rome: Roman Forum, Imperial Forum, Campidoglio, Colosseum (outside visit), Carcer Tullianum, Piazza Venezia and Piazza Navona. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 2 • Rome
Guided tour of St. Sebastiano’s Catacombs. Transfer to Vatican area and guided visit of Vatican Museums with the greatest masterpieces of all time: Raphael’s Rooms and the private living quarters of Pope Julius II, decorated with important frescoes by the great Renaissance painters. The visit will end at the Sistine Chapel, the work of the master Michelangelo. Visit of St. Peter’s. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 3 • Rome
Guided visit of the Lateran Complex, including St. John’s Basilica, Sancta Sanctorum and the Cloister. The Basilica of St. John Lateran is the oldest church in the West. Optional Roma Cristiana Open Bus tour of Rome or free time. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Days 4–5 • Assisi
We travel to Assisi, the birthplace of St. Francis and a special island of peace. We visit the Basilica of St. Francis, covered by incredible paintings of Giotto. Guided visit to the Church of St. Clare and the Church of Mary of Angels, the Porziuncola, St. Damiano, where Jesus spoke to St. Francis. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Assisi.
Day 6–7 • Florence
Transfer to Florence and walking guided tour of the city, passing by the Uffizi and over the Ponte Vecchio, and touching on the main churches: St. Maria Maggiore and St. Croce Basilica. The second day in the afternoon we will visit a farm where we can learn about local production of wine and oil and we will enjoy a great local tasting dinner. Overnight in Florence.
Day 8 • Venice
Transfer to Venice and walking visit of the main sites of the city, including the gorgeous Basilica of St. Mark and its open square. Venice is also renowned for architecture, fabrics and gleaming glassworks, all of which we will have the opportunity to experience. Dinner and overnight at hotel out of Venice lagoon.
Day 9 – Venice
We visit the island surrounding Venice: Murano, world-famous for the quality of its master glass craftsmen, and Burano, known for the handmade production of lace. Rest of the day for city walk and free time. Dinner and overnight at hotel out of Venice lagoon
Day 10 –Venice
After breakfast, transfer to Venice airport, for your international flight home.
